I’ve wanted this for a long time, but it seemed minor so I never submitted it. Today we crossed a pain threshold, so finally requesting it.
In the column header menu to “Arrange and manage groups”, there are 4 Ordering options:
- custom order
- ascending
- descending
- by order in source table
And 2 Group options:
- Show all groups
- Show only groups with values
We can choose to either:
- A) Show only groups with values >> but that forces the Custom Order options
- B) Show all groups, which allows ordering by Order in Source Table >> but it forces every group to render
Unless I’m missing something, we are unable to:
- C) Show only groups with values AND order by Order in Source Table
Were it available, I would choose Option C for 80% of use cases, or more.
