Automation Change status of parent task

Hi

I am new to Coda,

I want create automation rule to change the status of parent task to “In Progress” if the sub task status changed to “In progress”

Hello @M_J ,

What you are trying to accomplish is not complicated, but you need to understand a couple of Coda concepts to get this to work properly - when you have many tasks you don’t want the status of the wrong tasks to change.

I made a very basic sample doc to illustrate and explain how this can be done.

Copy the doc, show the hidden columns and check out the automation to fully understand the setup. It includes an apprehensive explanation as well.
