Hello I was wondering if there is a way to disable the comments box entirely - in particular this section. I prefer to not have it cluttering my docs. Thank you!

there is no option I know of that disables commenting completely all at once.
But you can disable the mentioned comments section in the row-layout settings of a table:
You have to do this separately for each layout/table.
Users can still comment via right click on a row at a table view or at the canvas:
To entirely disable user comments, you can do this with the locking feature which is available in the Team plan
This will not automatically remove the comment section though. You still have to disable it in the row layout settings.

Disabling the comments section in layout works well for me, since it will apply to all rows.
