Dear @Chain_Reaction,

As Product A700 and A800 are made of the same materials, both will show the same column.

Could you confirm the following, you assemble the products and for example today (08/20/2020) you assemble from A700 150 units and from A800 225 units and you want to give them a “lot number” with today’s date, so you can trace them back in case of any issues?

Then the lots will become A700-08/20/2020 and A800-08/20/2020

If that’s the case I will add it to the sample.

Dear @Jean_Pierre_Traets ,

no we dont assign Lot numbers , but we do have order number , like A800 Order-1 , A700 Order-5 , and so on. If A800 order-1 was placed on 2020-08-01 and next order will be A800 Order-2 could be on 2020-08-30 like this.
And here i would like to mention if there is anyway to automate this order number , so i dont have to remember it everytime when i enter the same product as repeat order.
let try to explain the above statement by use case example.

A800 Order-1 on 2020-08-01
A900 Order- 2 on 2020-08-02
A700 Order-3 on 2020-08-03

we have around 150+ products and every month adding 3-4 products new , so the list is very big.
what i want is automation
So when i do repeat order or new product it will get the order number assign automatically

A800 “Order-2” on 2020-08-28
A900 “Order- 3” on 2020-08-29
A700 “Order-4” on 2020-08-30

it is very much doable in excel it will track my product and assign the new order number automatically whenever i want to place a new order.

Regards

Dear @Chain_Reaction,

Please have a look to de update doc “Copy of Products & Vendors”, as shared above.

As you can see I added this too, explanation you can find under “Info” section!

Okay , so how can i let the Materials Table to Show product with order seq , for example it show me A800 _ Order-1 , A800 - Order-2 , so then it will become unique hence it will solve the problem of two products showing together in one material .
