Handing Off a Client Portal Without Requiring Paid Access?

Before I go down a rabbit hole trying to figure this out, I thought I’d ask here first.

I’m creating a private client portal in Coda for 1:1 coaching. At the end of our work together, I’d love to hand over the document to them—so they can keep all of their notes, session recaps, tools, etc.

Is there a way to do this without requiring them to have a paid Coda plan ?

For example, can they duplicate the doc into their own free account and retain everything?

Appreciate any guidance on the best way to do this :folded_hands:

simple answer is YES!
you can transfer ownership of the doc to them or they duplicate doc.

there are no doc size limits for free tier users if the doc is unshared.
Depending on how the doc is built, some things to consider are

  • AI (limited credits)
  • Hidden pages (which will unhide)
  • Packs (some packs required payment and/or included in certain tiers for free)
  • Attachments (1gb for free, 5gb for Pro tier, Unlimited for Team tier)
