Hi all,
I am new to Kibana and i am going to take the Kibana Data Analysis Online Course. But before that i am learning kibana and I want to change the hostname in Kibana. By default, it is taking the localhost as hostname. Can anyone help me how can I do this?
Hey @jack_leo, I think you’re in a wrong community. This one is for coda.io, not Kibana.
That said, if you’re self-hosting it on your own machine, then it runs on localhost (127.0.0.1) and there’s nothing you can do about that. You can add a custom hostname to resolve to 127.0.0.1, e.g. in your hosts
file (if you’re on Windows; and on other systems there should be a similar file, just google for /etc/hosts
), but the server is still going to run on your machine and not be accessible from outer internet (unless you configure your router, your firewall, your dynamic DNS etc).
