Hi this is probably pretty simple but I cant get it to work.
All I want to do is have the job notes show only the job notes that belong to the project and have the same scope tag. What does that formula look like?
Hi this is probably pretty simple but I cant get it to work.

You have to filter the Job Notes column. If you share a (dummy) doc, it is a lot easier to share the correct formula with you.
How do I share a dummy doc?
I used this filter I got from Gemini and it seems close to what I want but it doesn’t work
Job Notes.Filter(Projects.Contains(thisRow) AND Scope Tag.Contains(thisRow.Scope Tag))
I sent the link but I dont know how to not include all the data, which is annoying because I really dont want to share this with customer data in it.
I decided to delete the link, Im not going to share my doc without keeping the data I want out.
I feel like this should be a really simple formula but nobody is responding
Sir, you are way out of line.
Joost and Christian are volunteers who help people like you in their free time. They have solved hundreds of questions, so have you considered that you are not making it easy at all?
Make a copy of your doc, remove sensitive data and share it. It’s really not that difficult.
Sorry but my doc is loaded with sensitive data and deleting it all will take a really long time.
All I want is the column to filter for both below. Thats it, I’m just really frustrated I cant get it to work and I’m not getting anywhere. This is just a sample of how frustrating of an experience coda can be for people outside of the coding world.

Hello @Phil_Purdy1 ,
I understand your frustration - the learning curve is indeed sometimes a barrier.
Most of the time, the problem you are encountering has to do with data types, where an object is compared to a text field. Unfortunately, we can’t determine from a screen print what is going on.
When asking to share a (dummy)doc, we don’t mean that you have to copy your entire doc, delete all data and share it that way. Most of the time, you can create a simple doc, build a couple of tables that resemble your ‘problem’ doc (best done with the same table names and the same column names). You don’t have to include all columns, just the once to make it look like the real thing and with the columns you use in your formula. Create a couple of rows that resemble your data, build the formula (that doesn’t work) and we can probably show you where things go wrong in a matter of minutes.
I requested a private share to your doc - you can grant it if you want to skip building the dummy. Your data will be treated confidentially (I am so used to digging into private stuff (in the role of a support person), that I actually don’t even read what is there but I just see words and codes.
Even without support from people like me you will eventually figure it out - it is up to you to decide how you want to be helped. Once you see the light, you will understand what you did wrong and and a little while later you wonder how you could ever not see. Coda is so powerful, and a lot of it’s power can be used right out of the box. It’s filtering capabilities are second to none, but with som much power comes some complexity.
And no, I am not defending the complexity, but I understand the necessity of this complexity. And yes, I am a Coda fan.
At the moment, I am really busy and I am not checking the community on a daily basis, but I will try to keep an eye on answers in this thread.
Greetings,
Joost
Hi Joost thanks for taking the time to help out.
I made another thread with a dummy doc here:
