Is there a way to track comments via a formula? I am trying to create a table which automatically tells how many comments are open and resolved. Is there a way to do that?
Unfortunately this is not possible. Maybe someday it will be, but not at the time.
You could build a commenting system yourself with a separate table. Not as convenient as the built-in comments but those could be accessible with formulas.
