Gantt Chart Day view

I have an event involving over 20 people and I want to be able to use a Gantt Chart to map their working hours (each will arrive and depart at different times).

However, Gantt Chart don’t seem to function well on a day level — it doesn’t show hours, only full days, and when I try to use the bar’s handles to manipulate the data (say, add an hour to someone’s shift), the bar snaps to the next full day automatically.

Is there a way to make a Gantt Chart useful for daily scheduling like I’m describing?

Anybody has a clue on this ?
Or a smart workaround using another chart ?

I have some complicated events to plan. For each day, I will need to schedule a tight hourly timeline for many things happening that day.

It looks like the groundwork has been laid here in Calendar view:

Just need to extend it to Gantt and this will become much more useful!
