Make COUNTIF count the number of elements

I have a table where the options are from a select list where you can select multiple options. I want to count how many of each of the options appears even when selected with other options.
In excel I am able to use " * “& &” * " for the countif partial text, I’m not sure if this is possible in coda where the options are from a select list.

Edit: Also just realized my example counts pineapple into the “Apple” count but that’s besides the point, I don’t have the same issue with my actual data.
