Although Format() formula works incredibly well, sometimes it’s hard to remember the exact sequence of variables.
For this reason, I just published a (playground) Doc that provides more flexibility in term of variables (or placeholders) substitution.
Please, have a look at Variables Substitution
It allows to enter named variables defined elsewhere and to replace the text accordingly.
The underlying explanation might be a bit complicated, but I’d be happy to enter into the detail and even happier to extend it with your ideas!
Unfortunately, the lack of recursive functions won’t allow recursive substitution.
This would be incredibly useful for more advanced text-templating…
Note:
It relies on a - sadly - unsupported formula (RegexExtract()), so it’s discouraged to use it, unless you accept the potential volatility of its behaviour.
