Please add the option to customize conditional format colors! The current system is limiting and doesn’t even let us use the default color options if we want to change the text color to white for instance!
We also really need more colors for the buttons. It would be great if buttons were available in the same color palette as conditional formatting.
+1 for more colors on the buttons. I currently use the hidden _color() formula to create some more stylish buttons but it’s not great practices to use hidden formulas.
Notion does the same. My guess is they are limiting the colors for a few reasons:
- Consistent “branding” and design cohesion across documents
- Readability/accessibility
- Simplified user-experience
It would be easy to add colors and fonts, but (as an example) when people browse through the gallery of templates, it could be a mess of clashing colors and styles–a major turnoff for a lot of people taking Coda for a test drive.
in that case I wish we could set brand colors and style guidelines for our workspace.
+1 for more colors on the buttons and tags
Something that would be awesome is an option to make the buttons “transparent” so they take on the color of the column. That way, they’d just be able to control them with conditional formatting.
a custom color wheel would be awesome, where we can enter hex values. It would open up the opportunity to really customise the docs and brand them using business brand colors.
I’m aware, this is the system I’m talking about The default options and then the small list of colors for custom designs is not enough.
This is exactly what I’m asking for.
Allowing Hex colors alone would solve my problem.
Its not as clean of a solution, but something I do is make the label a formula and have it set to “” based on certain conditionals and then disable it with those same conditionals.
You get a minimized and greyed out button which significantly decreases it’s presence.
Here’s an example for a personal doc I’m currently using.
Also, It would be awesome to have the option to adjust a button’s color with a formula like we can with table cells using conditional formatting.
Doc level seems more appropriate to me as doc maker.
