Can one column have multiple data types in Coda?

Hi everyone,

Wondering if one column can have multiple data types in Coda?

Specifically, I have column A and column B. If column A is not empty, then I want column B to copy the same value of column A. If column A is empty, then I want column B to be a dropdown list where users can select one option from.

As a result, column B can be a formula (when A is not empty), or a list (when A is empty). Is it possible in Coda?

HI Loan,

Short answer is No.

BUT give us a bit more details of the business purpose of your request, maybe somebody can come up with an idea.

One way is to have a column C, with a formula. If Column A has a value, column C will be set to the value from A, else it will be set to the value in column B. Exactly how one implements this, would depend on how you want to handle the user interface.
