Hello!
I’m wondering what you all use for formatting your emails. The coda emails look a bit plain and I’m looking for ways to make them look a bit better.
I make may complete email on a new page (or canvas cell) and I include placeholders for the variables ({1}, {2},…,{x}.
For the content of my email I use this page in the following way:
Format(PageName,var1, var2, etc.) PageName is an actual Coda link to my email (template) page.
The way you go about this is a bit backwards, when you are building your formula and you get to the part where you use CFL Format(), you have to start typing the pagename of your email template before using format. Once the pagename is there (the typical Coda pill type look), you surround it with the Format() and you do your punctuation and variables. If you start with ‘Format(pagename’, you can’t find the page name.
Yeah, I use the format() formula, it’s great. I’m referring to the aesthetic of the email.
OK - I misunderstood that. There is very little you can do - I like to use tables for better layout, but they don’t look that great in your final email. Other than some logo’s and different text sizes there is not all that much you can do (as far as I know).
Hi Samuel,
I’m usually sending emails via the HTML Email Builder, which allows for more formatting options — including embedding URL instead of plainly showing them, which works great for an invite for filling a form!
Have a look to this doc from Coda’s Ben Lee.
Hope this helps!
