Currently, a doc has a great searching tools available on the left and side.
The reason, it searches across the entire doc and it is smart.
In my opinion, I found this feature far better than filtering tables with filter → smarter and avoid multiplication of many filter. see image below
However, the search tool is also very limited because it does not understand advanced query like the way we do with Google Drive/Gmail or any apps with modern search capabilities.
In a nutshell, it would be great to
- have the current search tool available as an object we can place anywhere in the doc, not only on the left side (results are bit small)
- to improve the search engine with more advance queries → not only keywords, but like “date > today - 7”, “has URL”, “has spreadsheet link”, etc
