Although I agree there should be a setting to define the card length, there is a work around that might help you out:

I’ve always hated that cards are cutting off the text when longer. After using it for about an year I decided that this hack might live longer for good and it’s worth sharing it. What you need to achieve it: a) A special Unicode character or emoji, or b) Use one of the text formatting formulas like _color( ) and _bold( )
