Tips : a Dynamic syncblock-like Navigation Bar for your document across pages!

OMG !!! THAT’S A MESS !!! Please Coda do something ! I’ve got a huge client project using this features… (OK, I know Button() is unofficial, but still…

@Quentin_Morel @Susan_M_Davis A quick fix to restore the buttons is to set the type of those Button() columns to Canvas and enable display preview.

I see the idea … but he’s mad at me still…

For now I cheated with a table view, but this is not great

Weird — could you quickly share with paul@codatricks.com for me to take a look?

P.S. Is it strange that I find the table view actually cleaner than the card view?

 you know, tastes and colors… ^^

@Paul_Danyliuk I wish that had fixed it. NOPE. Changing those columns to canvas and displaying preview still doesn’t work. It did change though. One of the buttons which is just a button going to a web url is now not grayed out, but the other button the one I really need to work is still grayed out. If I just add that button to the card, it’s active, but when it’s in a concatenate (I also tried changing it to use format()) then that button is still grayed out. It is a button that is more complicated than just doing one thing. But I see that even on the phone app the buttons in many of my pages are now no longer functional. So something on the backend of Coda changed.

Yep. Same thing happened to me. I have a lot of tables where I use this technique so that on a phone it looks/works better.

Now, all broken. :frowning: I thought it was just me and one of the beta’s I’m in. Glad to hear it isn’t just me. Sorry to hear it’s affecting you though. I know a lot of people that use this technique to make the UI look better. Come Monday morning, a lot of Coda developers are going to be scrambling to fix this. I know we were warned not to use hidden formulas, but one button per line in a card is ridiculous to work with.

I definitely prefer table views when working on my computer, but when using the phone app I find the table views extremely ugly and difficult to use. So for things I want easy access to from my phone I use cards and those tiny buttons have made my doc amazing! I will be unhappy if Coda doesn’t fix this. :frowning: It would be my first legitimate complaint about Coda as a product.

This is exactly my point … “I know… but!”

OK well, we can mimic this quite great however…

Thanks for posting that. I added a column to ues a table but sadly, it loses my scale column turns it into just a number, also the selects lose all their formatting as well. :frowning: I hope Coda fixes this come Monday!

Any updates on if there was a fix?

@Nate_Gerber2 I did get all my buttons working again. I spent some time tweaking things. Unfortunately, I don’t remember all the tweaks I made to get it working but all my tiny buttons are functional again.
