Elsewhere in the community we had a discussion around change control and version management. I started covering some scenarios, and it turned into the page below.
I give, from my perspective, definitions for version and change management, transactional, master and configuration data. My perspective comes from implementing SAP ERP, so the comments below lean towards big projects. But even if not all the scenarios apply to your doc(s), I hope that this will provide a framework for you to consider when and how to change control and version manage your docs and their contents,
These are not hard and fast rules, but some topics to consider when your document and the number of users grow and needs to be managed.
