Custom Layouts for Sub Tables

Is it necessary to create a new table for each layout?

I assumed with Coda formulas, formula library, formula cheat sheet - Coda

** viewOrLayout**

You were able to create multiple layouts and reference them with a table.

  • View being the extra tables
  • Layout being the style of a table

instead it seems that you need an active layout ( which also means table) to reference the table view or the expanded layout.

you’re correct. I have no idea why coda named it ViewOrLayout, but it drives me insane.

@Ty_Xanders , it is like @AJM said, you cannot. I wrote a blog about it to explain this inconsistency that coda has to solve:

Let’s make it sing indeed, thank you for this.
I’m glad i’m not just going insane like @AJM ( there’s hope for you yet)

I’m using this button with formula trick to create an open row button that opens a different layout based on a column value:

Works great!
