I am pretty sure I have seen this but I don’t know what it is called so I cannot find it. I have a form that has some complicated directions. I want to be able to add directions and examples in the canvas. If I added them where it says instructions it messes up the format if add anything for than a line. A pop-up help option might also work. Thanks in advance. If you just know what the feature is called that is sufficient for me to find out how to do it.
Hey @Chris_DeAngelis , I think the feature’s called column descriptions. You add them from your source table in the column settings → “add a description”. Then just make sure your layout has the option selected to show column descriptions (down at the bottom of the right-hand side panel when editing a layout).
Thanks Andrew. I think that wasn’t what I wanted. I am trying to either have a little ? that someone clicks to read more. Or some grayed out light pre-filled text that disappears when someone writes. This is not a major issue for this point but some of my fields I want the user to fill out are complicated to get it rights so wanted to pre-populate some example without having it take up too much space. So more of a pop-up or hover over concept. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
going from what @Andrew_Farnsworth has advised… is the form below in “Notes”
what you are trying to achieve (you mentioned ? and pop-up or hover concept) ?
Thanks @Andrew_Farnsworth@Melanie_Teh I finally figured it out. You have to enter the description but then also choose to unhide descriptions. I was missing both steps. Much appreciated
