[Gig] Need help to write an API

Hi there, I would like to set up an API that pulls data from my stock brokerage account. If you are a developer with experience of writing APIs and would like to assist (paid of course!), please get in touch with an estimate. The brokerage’s API information is here: IBKR Trading API Solutions | Interactive Brokers LLC

An alternative approach is to write an API that pulls data from an FTP site, either the IBKR FTP site or a third party like files.com. Here is the information on the IBKR FTP service: Reporting Integration Tool Developer's Guide and here is the information on the API for the third-party FTP site provider called files.com: https://developers.files.com/

To summarize, I need a developer to write and set up one of the following options (whichever is more viable and least cost):
Option 1: Coda - IBKR API
Option 2: Coda - Files.com API

Let me know if you are interested!

Thanks

Lorraine

Hi @Lorraine_Becker, I’m not an expert, but at https://coda.io/account you can generate an api token.

and at Coda API (v1) Reference Documentation they have a doc id generator.

Then you can go to somthing like zapier and you could play around with coda’s API.

Thank you Bodhi. I will look at these resources.

Hi Lorraine,

I have written interfaces for both Interactive Brokers and Coda (which are currently used in a production environment). I could probably provide the services you need but I would need more clarity on the problem you’re trying to solve.

Keep in mind a few things:

  1. You would need to open IB’s TWS API socket (which I could explain if that doesn’t mean anything to you) for the Windows console app that captures data from TWS and then updates Coda.
  2. Market data updates from TWS, due to Coda.io’s update speed, would never approach sub-second updates (which is what the IB interface can handle). In fact, the best you’ll get is about a 30-second update.
  3. However account and portfolio info would be absolutely possible and far exceeds what is currently built into Coda.

Let me know if you would like to discuss further.
