How to build a quote builder

Hello,

I’m wondering if anyone can give me advice on a project. I work for a ecommerce company that builds quotes for customers through Shopify. We currently have a Google Sheets document where we plug in information from the quote: quantity of products, MAP (advertised price of products), and our dealer cost of products. The Sheets document calculates a discount based off of a markup rate that is based off of the total order price. It works pretty well, but I’m tired of having to copy and paste the MAP and dealer cost of every item.
I’d like to create a Coda document that has one table of the products with MAP and dealer cost, then on another table, all I would have to do is enter the quantity and SKUs of products, and it will pull in all of the information, and figure out the markup rate/discount.
Any suggestions on how to pull this off?

If a spreadsheet can do it, Coda can.

Sounds pretty straight forward but the devils always in the details. Based on the description it sounds like you may want 3 tables: Quote, Quote Line Items and Products.

I created a quick poc to illustrate

  1. Open the quote using the “Open Quote” button
  2. Add new Line Items to the quote which are products & quantity
  3. The Quote Line Item Price field would be your formula to calc the markup rate discount. If you need help in creating the formula in Coda just post it here and I can show you how to do it.

How’s this look?
