How to fit columns in tables to width of contents?

Hello there,

When I press between columns with the mouse, it fits the column width but to the name of the column itself not the contents, so it becomes smaller than the content.

Is there any solution for this??

:waving_hand: @Mina_Waheed

if you right click, there is an option called “Row height”. The options for “all lines” and/or “Unwrap column text” may be what youre after to fit your cell contents?
sorry I do not understand what you mean by “when i press between columns with the mouse”.
Cell content fit might depend on column type too so please demo with video/screenshot what your use case if the above suggestion doesnt work for you

hope this helps!
cheers!

Hi @Melanie_Teh
Thank you for replying.

Sorry for not being clear.
Here it is a video showing what I mean:

Here, I am pressing the line between the columns like excel not changing it manually. In excel, it fits the column width according the content, but here no it fits according to the column name itself which here is named (Name).

Also, changing the row height doesn’t help, it only affects the visible part of the cell

I hope it’s more clear now.
Thanks in advance,

oh, do you mean a function like column auto-width in excel?
not possible in coda. you will have to manually set the column width.
the closest to that functionality is if u select multiple columns then right click, you can resize the columns equally

Also, changing the row height doesn’t help, it only affects the visible part of the cell

you need to “wrap the column text” (not unwrap the column text)

@Melanie_Teh
Thanks for your help.

Resize equally is good, but still not the needed.
But, why then it responds with changing width by clicking between the columns if it doesn’t support auto width?? What does it change, then?

Wrapping the cells just makes multiple lines, so the cell content can be visible.
