Lock columns in view

Saw some comments mentioning the column headers already sticking to the top? Not seeing this on my end.

Would love to have the column headers stick to the top of the pane while scrolling down. This is extremely helpful when scrolling down a long to-do list, budget, raw expense data, etc. having to remember which column is which can slow people down. What i end up doing when i have a large set is copying and pasting into sheets/excel and using the freeze function there…

The column headers stick to the top as long as columns are not grouped. It’s not a trivial fix to make it work for grouped tables, but definitely something that is on our list to improve.

Any update on this? I need to have the first column frozen so I can see them when I scroll right on a large table. The column headers are the names of each month, so hiding some to make it fit is not an option.

Another on the +1 to freeze first column - this would be the minimum. But I love Ander’s want from March 2019

I agree with cblock above from September 2019 about pain for views and grouping when youo just want to quickly scroll left right when dealing with data entry or columns you want to see but monitor just not quite big enough.

Thanks

It’s not quite what you’re looking for, but you can use conditional formatting to make the visual appearance fade into the background.

It’s making Coda impossible to use for us.

Since when do people make tables where the table has so few columns that you don’t need to scroll to the right?

(Hint: Answer is “almost never”.)

I’d also like to see the ability to lock a table so you can’t open the detail view and also if not locked and the view can be opened be able to specify what layout is shown based on a formula. ie. if category=X show layout X, if category=Y, show layout Y.
