Problem with opening rows to edit and embedded docs

When I click a button that has the “open row for editing” enabled inside an embed / sync page it opens up the original doc in a new tab. Rather than just opening the modal to edit the row. It would be great if this behaviour was by default enabled so that the modal would just open without breaking the user experience.

I’ve filed this as a bug because it feels like one compared to what is a really good user experience!

I am having this issue as well.

The synced pages work great and any attempt to open the row for editing results in the original doc being opened to display the modal. I tried the default layout and custom layouts and the result is the same.

Update: The same thing happens when trying to open a big editor on a text field.
