Removing Embed Warning in Coda (See Image Attached)

Hello Coda Community,

I’m running into an issue where an “Loading external content may reveal information to 3rd parties” warning is displayed whenever I embed this website. I’ve tried searching through Coda’s help docs and community forums but couldn’t find a solution to remove or hide this warning. I’ve attached an image for reference (see below).

Does anyone know if there’s a way to either remove or work around this warning? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I see a lot of people viewed this but no one replies. So I’m thinking this isn’t something we can fix? It just seems very unprofessional plus it also shows them where we made our course which we prefer not too. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Coda uses the iFramely service to implement these embeds.

Webapps that have been registered with iFramely and have been vetted as safe to use, will not pop up this dialog when you embed them.

Otherwise, for user safety, Coda pops up the dialog and asks the user to confirm that they want to allow the Webapp to run.

In this way it is not possible for a bad actor to inject a Webapp into a coda doc without the user being aware of it.

So, if the developer of the Webapp you are embedding is able to provide an iFramely-approved version of the embed, then you can use that and the dialog will not appear. Otherwise, for safety, it must be shown.

But note that the pop-up only appears the first time the user uses the embed - after that it wont appear.

Hi @Xyzor_Max,

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation regarding the iFramely service and Coda’s embed warning. It all makes sense now!

I’ve reached out to Courseau and requested them to register with iFramely to avoid the warning in Coda. They seem open to the idea, especially since they recently asked us for a testimonial as part of their higher up plan

Thanks again for your help!

Best regards,
