I love the ability to summarize a column’s values at the bottom, but sometimes, you just want to select some cells and see the sum without going to the trouble of filtering down to the rows you want. It would be nifty if the sum of selected cells showed up automatically in the gutter a la Google Sheets.

Some people have had the same request, but doesn’t seem to get a lot of traction:
Meanwhile you can create formulas outside the table (by inserting an equal sign “=”) and adding a checkbox column to get the desired result.
