What is the maximum amount of people that can join a workspace or a doc?

Can 50k people join a doc and interact with it at the same time for example?

How viable is this idea? 👇

Here is an example:

Let's say a popular live streamer invites his 50k viewers to his coda doc. They create accounts and log in so that they can interact.

The streamer can do anything he wants in the doc while others are only able to press buttons.
So just this first option would be on for everyone else:

This would be a good place where the Streamer could ask question, make pools and his viewers could respond in real time.

He could make let them sign up to his newsletter directly from the doc, using form fields and notify them via email if for example there is a new poll that he wants them to be a part of.

Coda also has a “:bell: Notify User” button action… Would that work with 50k users?

Hey there! I checked in with the Coda team on this, and if the majority of the users are only clicking reaction buttons (ie: buttons that aren’t creating/updating rows in a table, or taking other hefty actions in Coda), then you shouldn’t run into any performance issues.

However, with something like form submissions, 50k submissions in a small amount of time could result in performance issues since you’ll be adding in lots of rows to a table all at once.

So to summarize, it’s definitely viable for reactions, polls, and lightweight buttons, but slightly less viable for form submissions.

Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any follow-up questions on this front
