I want to position a detail view from one table next to a card view (filtered to one card only) immediately to the right of the detail view, it will only go underneath and from searching other posts it seems that columns cannot be added directly to the canvas which is a basic requirement of a word processor - Coda claim that it’s a hybrid word processor/spreadsheet/database.
I concur that this is a needed feature. Even having fixed-width tabs included in the document (rather than using tab to indent the whole line) would be extremely useful in setting up a basic multi-column document. While tables provide this functionality, the inability to make each row a different text/formula combination means that you can’t use tables to do something like embedding a (variable) number inside a (variable) chunk of text. You can do this in the body of the document, but not in a columnar manner.
