Sometimes tables can have a lot of attribute data columns. In my document scheme, I separate the tables from content pages, where I display just the data which are important in a specific context.
Coming back to my data tables. As there may be many columns, it would be very useful to be able th collapse a column. This is currently possible in cards layout. See below what I would like to get (1) and how it looks today (2).
Hide or unhide a column is not an option for me here.

What you can do is group across top in grouping options and you could collapse them as the card view.
The only drawback is that while collapsed no name is shown, I’m not sure if this is proper behavior.
Maybe @BenLee knows something about this?
