Column Conditional Formatting by column type

Hello,

Did anybody know about a pack for Column Conditional Formatting by column type in tables automatically?

Something like to format:

  • if relation columns add purple background
  • if formula type columns add red background
  • if button columns add yellow background
  • if subitems columns add green background, etc

Or may exist other way to do this using a formula in Conditional Formating settings?

Thank you!

Hello @Felix_MATEI

I don’t think you can do this automatically, but I haven’t tested it extensively to confirm that.

Take a look at this thread—it might be useful for you:
Solved: Conditional Formatting by formula using absolutely ANY color.

Also, check out the Coda API and the Doc Inspector Pack. Using these, you can retrieve the column type. There might be a way to achieve what you’re trying to do, but I’m not certain.

If you manage to figure it out, please share it with us! :grimacing:

Best regards,
Arnhold

Am also very interested in this! I dislike having to leave a bunch of hard coded conditional formats just to get a background color
