Hi guys,
I know we can highlight ‘anything’ on a dock and comment about it, which is great of course.
In addition, I particularly love the comments block at the bottom of the ‘detail view’ / ‘canvas’ for each item / object / row specific discussions. This is great because the comments here are contextual by nature.
However, the way we probably will structure projects will be giving clients access to the project ‘home page’ (a doc) and I would love to have the same comments section right there in in the ‘home page’ doc, which is more intuitive for clients who may not collaborate on docs / syntax / semantics etc, but rather as a project portal.
Is this possible?
Hi Hendrik,
You can’t have the comments section directly in the document canvas. As you say, the comments are always attached to an object.
But you can replicate the comment section with canvas controls, buttons and a table, in a similar way we did in https://community.coda.io/t/visual-cue-for-comments-on-cards/
Hope this helps,
Pablo
Hi Pablo,
Thank you.
That is an option, but again (at least for now) I’d prefer to keep the same native Coda.io comment system that integrates with email which would save us having to deal with having two commenting systems.
So my feature suggestion will be to have the option to have comments natively associated with the doc they’re on - perhaps represented by the doc title.
