Hey everyone!
I’m helping someone with Coda and was wondering, is there any way to retrieve comment data and ideally compile it into a table? I’ve come across a few discussions on this (like the one below), but it doesn’t seem like there’s been a solid solution yet. Does anyone know of a way or a workaround to access comment data? Appreciate any insights!
I’m afraid not, they are isolated from everything for some reason 
It would be fantastic to see some improvements in the Comments management system. We lack the ability to search or customise them, and no viewing options are available.
Coda is designed to customise our communication and information sharing with the team, so it’s pretty frustrating to have the comments isolated in this manner. A significant portion of document collaboration takes place in the Comments section!
Coda excels in many aspects, but unfortunately, one of its most frequently used features is underappreciated.
Totally agree.
I think having a source table linked to many docs via cross-doc is a very common scenario, but then you cannot interact with comments from your source doc, you need to enter in each one of the multiple linked docs!
Very frustrating.
Agreed with sentiments of all above having access to comments in search-ability and overall a more optimal use for collaboration !!
In the meantime, if require a workaround or more manual non-native comments functionality would be something @Andrew_Farnsworth built recently A messaging tool with threads and AI
