We are new to CODA, we are a team of 4, who want to use CODA with our gmail addresses.
We only have one @ourdomain.com address.
When I click on share the doc. I get an error saying cross domain sharing is prohibited.
Even if I create the original doc with a gmail address and not ourdomain.com address, we are getting the same error.
May I know that if CODA allows users to use gmail addresses? or everyone has to have the same workspace.com address?

Just a couple of things to check:
- are you the doc maker
OR
- are your sharing settings correct

I have the same here, I get an error stating “Error: cross domain sharing is prohibited”. I have sent a message to Coda support, but no reply yet. This isn’t very pleasant! Please, let us know if somebody gets it fixed.

We are having the same problem. Right now we are using a free account associated with an email address on our custom domain. It seems that this makes it impossible to share with anyone outside that custom domain (including gmail). However, on other free accounts that were set up with gmail addresses, we can share with others in any domain.
Where does Coda document this behavior?

I am having the same problem. I can’t share in the document, folder, workspace, or even in a group folder. No matter what I do it says no cross-domain sharing. I am signed in with my private gmail account, and I am trying to share with other private gmail accounts. Its a no go for me. The other post suggestions do not work from previous months and years.

I am having the same issue. I am a freelance editor with my company domain and am unable to share a doc with a client (who is already using Coda for their organization.) I’m currently using the free version to determine if I should switch from ClickUp but it’s not worth it for me if I can’t share across domains. And it’s not worth it for me as a single freelancer to spend the money on an enterprise account.

I also know two people who are having the same issues.
UPDATE: I resolved this issue by contacting coda using the help ? in the bottom right corner. Apparently Coda’s system sometimes erroneously flags some docs, and you just need to let them know and they will unflag it.

Have you read the message in this thread posted April 19?
BTW, I have used both click up and Coda, click up does not come close in functionality.
If you’re only interested in project management in a top down, hierarchical structure, click up is a good tool.
If you want flexible management of all information in your organisation, Coda is difficult to beat.
