I have a request, and it should be relatively quick and easy to implement the baseline requirements.
I would like the ability to create a custom URL for a given link on my site. It wouldn’t replace the canonical long URL, it would look something like https://coda.io/s/my_custom_url.
Note that I’m proposing a URL shortener domain, possibly with a short path, and a single namespace for custom URLs. That may not be a great idea necessarily in the long run but should work fine for now. Eventually when you add support for custom domain names we’ll lose the shared namespace and I could just edit page metadata to add url_alias: /my_essay_about_foo and that would redirect to the canonical link.
This would make it easy for me to share memorable links to specific published documents.
