I’ve been discussing the following problem with ChatGPT and Claude for a couple of weeks, but they haven’t been able to solve it. Instead, I’ve spent hours going in circles (but learning a litlle about Coda).
I want to create a table with two dropdowns. The first column—Letters—has two choices: A or B. The second column—Numbers—has these choices: 1 or 2 if you’ve chosen A under Letters and 3 or 4 if you’ve chosen B under Letters.
This is of course a a simplified version of something a bit more complex. Any help would be highly appreciated.
filtering inside relations feels difficult for most users new to code since you have to put your brain on something true ‘inside the filter’, meaning you have to focus on the condition itself that defines what is true.
Excuse me, @Christiaan_Huizer , are you suggesting that there might be a simpler alternative, which honestly doesn’t come to mind for me? Or are you simply emphasizing that understanding the importance of the described concept is a key point when working with filtering in Coda?
@Christiaan_Huizer Thanks for your message! I was curious about your perspective—maybe I’m so used to diving into Coda’s advanced features that I might be overlooking a simpler solution, so I thought I’d clarify. I completely agree with your points, by the way. For someone who’s worked with Notion for a long time, where filtering within relations doesn’t exist, filtering in Coda feels like magic—it really makes life so much easier.
