Display bug in Canvas formula referencing another Canvas

Hey Codans,

I have a minor display bug, but I’ll use the time to let you know about a few things.

I have a “project” table, that has a lot of other subtables (deliverables, tickets, tasks, milestones, meeting minutes, time reports and so on). We have many projects with a lot of data, and having a custom layed out page with a selecting “personal” combo at the top doesn’t do it anymore: reloading everything when changing project is very slow, and users can’t link to a specific project.

So I’m redoing everything with the “fullscreen” open row mode. As the layout editor is much more limitated than the normal pages, I have to be shrewd all around:

  • you can’t use the “filter bar” in such cases (linked relations or anything with a fixed filter formula can’t be filtered down anymore… suggestion: allow this). But as it’s dearly needed, I’m using canvas columns: I lay out as I used to do in a separate Canvas column from another table, I use it as default page for all new projects, and I use the “parentRow” property to make sure I get the data from the proper project. Now I get the filter bar.
  • but now, even when it’s locked (“interact only”) so that you can’t modify outside of tables, as it’s a column you actually can modify everything even without unlocking: adding a row, deleting the whole table, adding words before and after, etc.
  • so I create a second Canvas column, with a simple formula to clone the content of the original one. Now I can’t edit anything, can’t even add a line (that’s unexpected but why not), but I can expand a row and change content. Perfect.

But that’s when the issue arises.

Up there is the orignal canvas, down there is the clone with formula.
Problem: the “expand row” is misaligned. Right now they are pinned, but that also happens when simply hovering.

Would love to have this solved, as I’m countering this by adding a dummy column…
Thx!

Laurent
