I was doing the Coda puzzler #4 and I ran into a small experience change I would appreciate.
When I am entering a formula, sometimes I want to reference (by clicking) a cell that I don’t have access to because it’s covered by a helpful formula builder pop-up. When it happened it looked like this:
You can see the entire table is covered. But at least I know how to use an IF function
When I press ESC it just closes the entire function builder so it becomes one of those red exclamation points (not helpful)
Either
A) There is a way to do this and I just don’t know how yet, or
B) It doesn’t exist yet, in which case it would be nice to know if it’s possible to implement.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a great way to do this right now. However, this is really useful feedback and I’ll share it with the rest of the Coda team. I agree that it’s annoying, even if it has enabled you to be an IF() master.
Is there any update on this? I’m constantly running into the issue where the section of the formula I want to edit is hidden behind the formula help box. I end up copying and pasting my formulas into just normal text on a blank sheet and editing them there and pasting them back in, which is less than ideal. Also pasting them back in often times will break the link of say a column name so it says it’s not defined so I have to delete that word and select it out of the auto-populated list again in order for it to recognize it again.
