How to disable the actions and only give Read-Only access in published doc?

I plan to use Coda to create a table for my newsletter, allowing visitors to easily filter and search for articles. However, I’ve noticed that visitors can currently update the table, such as selecting different items from the dropdown, adding new rows, and expanding row items. While these edits do not affect the actual table, I want to ensure that users focus solely on the primary purpose of the table—searching for and filtering articles—without feeling like they have editing capabilities.

Luckily Coda gives that option.

  1. Click Share button on the upper right of your doc

  2. Click the Publish tab

  3. On the Publish click “Open publishing settings”

  4. Set the Publish mode to “View”

Is that what your were looking for?

Hey @Ryan_Hubbard1 can you please check this link. Because I follow the same thing but still I see edit mode view when I open it in diffrent browser or incognito mode.

Hey @Ryan_Hubbard1
I have a few more questions regarding my Coda publication. I’m unsure whether to ask them in this thread or create separate threads for each. If the questions do not align with community guidelines, I will create separate threads. However, I want to share the background of my publication and the doubts I have.

I run the 24 Carat Design newsletter on LinkedIn. Currently, I have posted four articles, but this number might increase to 30-50 in the coming months. LinkedIn’s newsletter interface only displays posts from latest to oldest and lacks search and category options for managing content. To address this, I use Coda to create a more user-friendly experience.

I want my readers to easily find the content they’re looking for through search and tagging. I’ve created a table view in Coda where users can search and filter articles. For returning users, this search and filter functionality is ideal. However, for new users, the hover preview of articles on LinkedIn is problematic. The preview is too large, possibly due to the ideal cover image size of 1920x1080, which takes up almost 70% of the screen and creates a poor user experience. so is there any solutions to fix this this is the first doubt I have.

Secondary, I plan to considering creating a card view in Coda that displays the image and title from LinkedIn links without a subtitle, currently in embed view it also fetch the subtitle. And just to acknowledge you that image play very important role in my newsletter. So Ideally look a solution where I present the image, title and tags with search and filter option. It can be better if user can switch between the table and card view also. Additionally, since this Coda link offers better search and filter functions than the LinkedIn newsletter itself, I would like to track audience performance for marketing purposes.

Could you provide guidance on these issues?

In general best to search the community and help, try a few things, then if you can’t find what you’re looking for or struggling to implement post 1 topic per post to make it easier for others to discover solutions. Hope some of this below helps.

  • Preview is too large - I would start a new post, include screenshots and/or the doc so community which will make it easier for others to understand what the problem is and what you’re trying to accomplish

  • Doc/Page Google Analytics

  • Switching Views - You can’t switch a view, but there’s work arounds although not great, but maybe they help you out. Here’s one such post I answered just this week.

  • I can’t edit the link you sent so seems to working correctly. This is what I see. If you can edit it when you’re not logged in, then you may want to think about filing a bug.
