I deleted a row, I found it in the doc history, but there are hundreds of relations all around. If I create the row anew with the same name (display column), none of this is linked back to it.
Is there a way to restore it? It was deleted 4 days ago, I think I remember there’s a timer on that …
I can click on the grip of the deleted row from the history, it will indeed copy the row in the clipboard.
But then how am I supposed to paste it in the destination table without first creating a new row? If I select the whole destination table and paste the row, it will delete the table and create a new one with that single row in it…
So the exact solution is to paste the line into the canvas. It creates a new table and asks for duplicate or view. Choosing “view” adds back the line to the table very properly.
I can’t reproduce this solution - when I paste the row from a history doc into the current doc, it creates a new table that has no connection with anything. I don’t get the question about a duplicate or view (I only get that question when I paste into the history doc).
However, I use a different solution.
When I find a broken relation, I hoover over the greyish text of the relation pill. I now see one of two messages that look like this:
When it says Restore row, everything is simple: just restore the row and you are all set.
When it says Create row, it is a bit more complicated. First, go ahead and create the row. At this point, all your relations are restored to the newly created row.
Then go to the master table holding the relation rows and find the newly created record.
Go to the history doc, find the row that is deleted in the live doc and copy this row. Go back to the live doc, activate the newly created row and past the copied archive row. Now you are back in business. If the deleted row content was very simple, you don’t have to copy a row from your archive but you can edit the newly created row manually.
