Inline code shouldn't require space and renders small

One of the seemingly small things I find incredibly icky and frustrating, is that when typing inline code, I have to put a space after the backticks. So even if it’s the only (or the last) thing I’m typing on a line, I have to put a space after it in order to get it to render as inline code. This feels horrible to me and is not how most other Markdown renderers work.

It should render as inline code as soon as you type the second backtick. This is how most Markdown renderers work (including this forum). It’s much more satisfying.

The text also renders slightly smaller than the standard font which I also find frustrating and icky. Personally I’d also love to see a slight color variation to allow inline code to pop more (like Github does).
