Agree. As a productivity platform, choosing the only browser to support is harmful for Coda. And the underlying reason why Coda chooses Chrome, which is just the Google account, damages the image of Coda. I thought the non-support for other browsers than Chrome is only during the beta period. However, Coda comes to 1.0 with the awkward situation. The deep dependency on google’s is the choice that Coda team made. But I think making Coda indepent on things from one specific company is more suita…

Hi - while Coda itself only works on Chrome, it would be great to be able to use Safari (Mac) or other browsers to read this forum. I know that Discourse itself works on Safari, but your SSO setup hits a page along the way that requires Chrome. Thanks!

And no answer from the devs, my bet is Firefox isn’t going to be supported.

Similarly, the dependency on gmail/drive isn’t going away, with all the privacy implications it implies.

Despite loving Coda, I haven’t been able to onboard my team (since we all use Firefox) nor convince Management (Google Drive is a no-no for company IP), and have been waiting for a few months for any sign of goodwill from Coda now.

Unfortunately, I think I will move on to Notion or Airtable.
