Relation Control Maximum Number of Items?

I have a relation control which has 3 columns based upon a table with about 490 records.

About the last 50 of my records do not load in the relation control. Any new records I add in do not appear in the relation control even when I do a refresh. And Search does not work to find many of the items.

Is there a limit to the number of items which can be included in such a control?

What would be an alternative approach?

Hello @Richard_Kaplan ,
I am using these controls on tables with thousands of records and see no limitation. I am tempted to think a filter is limiting what you are seeing.
