Status Change to Email Notification

I have a scenario where I want to be able to send a email notification when a status change. I have gotten about 80% of the way but can’t figure out the last step.

Scenario 1:
I do an automation when a row is changed, it seems as if there is no way to send a custom message

Scenario 2:
I have a button that when it is pushed it changes the status, and another button that send an email. But, I can figure out how to combine these two action into 1.
