Has anyone had this happen? I looked into a table of mine and in the hidden columns there was over 1000 text columns each with a view connected to them. No idea how they got created or how to get rid of them all without having to go one by one.
aarrggghh! that would be so annoying!
to get rid of them - in any view, unhide all 1000 columns. Then, select the first of those 1000 columns and then scroll right to the last of those 1000 columns and press shift key and click that last column. This will select all the 1000 columns and then right click and select the “delete columns” option.
how you may have gotten those 1000 columns - have some thoughts but would need additional info and possibly look at setup/worfklow or overall doc
- what are the names of those 1000 columns? usually these are hints where it may have originated
- is this table used in a canvas column or on a canvas column template?
cheers!

Oh man a thousand clicks to solve this issue! Can this be something that can be addressed? This is going to take me hours! They all say “column” and then the corresponding number, all text columns with nothing in them. I tried dealing with this and my doc keeps crashing.
reach out to the support desk by clicking on the ? at the bottom right of your doc.
Was this a cross-doc table? Because there is a bug with turning on subitems that can cause the table to generate columns on it’s own in that scenario, but otherwise I’ve never experienced it.
