I’m creating a task tracker for my marketing team and one of our task categories is receiving invoices from our clients. These invoices need to go through an approval process across different teams and here is where I’m struggling. I’m trying it figure out the best way to track when each invoice task was sent to another team for approval and how long it took them to approve it. This is in order for us to see where there might be a bottleneck in the process.
Also, FYI: This tracker is for my own personal use and does not need to include other Coda users.
My current set up is as follows:
I have a page which I call my “master sheet” with all our tasks. These are categorized as general tasks or invoices. Only the invoice tasks need to follow the tracking process I mentioned above.
An example doc like Troy suggested is always good.
But also think a little bit more about the details of what you want done
At its simplest you could just add date columns for the various statuses, and ooste that manually.
Alternatively you could use your task list to send emails to the relevant people to push a button to approve. You can then record the date, tube and user that did the approval.
Also, do you have the same statuses over time, or do different invoices have different statuses that you need to record. If the first, using columns would be simple and easy, if the second, then it would be better to have status rows.
Here is the link to my shared doc. I think I figured out a way to make the progress tracker to work (table within a table) but I’m open to suggestions if you think there is a better way to do it.
