Hi there! When there is only a link in a text field, the entire field becomes uneditable. Clicking anywhere in the field just opens a link editing modal, and there is no way to remove the link or type something else in the field.

Hi. I think you need to right click the link to get options.

Hey @Dmitry_Kuchev
I am trying to understand why you say you cannot remove the link. To establish a few things, your column is a link type or a text type but with a hyperlink inside the cell?
To get rid of the hyperlink, just use backspace/delete once focused on the cell.

I’m not sure, it’s hard to understand why at some point a text field that only contains a link, becomes uneditable. Here is a video with a little experiments, I hope it helps the devs to investigate: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uTAVR-U7CIQ0zJC8ewIdo07juj8U_Wuu/view?usp=sharing
In this video I have two text fields, one of them is uneditable right away, another one (on hover there is a little expand icon at the bottom right corner, signaling that I can edit this field conveniently if I expand it), but at some point the second field becomes uneditable too, and there is no more little expand icons at the bottom right corner on hover.

Right click in the field is just system context menu. Right click on the link itself did work - there is a “Remove“ option. But this feels more like a workaround, not the solution.

Hi Dmitry,
That does work, but if you want to add additional comments to that cell, it is not going to work. I have gotten into the habit, in text columns, to create blank line and then add the link. Of course, if the column is specifically for links, you do not need to do that.

Dmitry,
I have had the same issue. My workaround is when I insert a hyperlink to put a bullet in front of it.

Once you focus by clicking on the field just press backspace/delete and the link dissapears. This is one of the most easy and common ways to empty a cell of content. Coudl the remove “button“ be there? Yeah, maybe but… it’s not so just use backsapce/delete.
Thanks all, but still: it is a bug, and needs to be fixed
Building habits and workarounds around a bug, well… Better to fix it, it’s not that big
