Unexpected Sharing Permission Change to Public Access

Hi all,

Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing a strange issue with one of my shared Coda docs: the sharing settings seem to update on their own, specifically switching to “Anyone on the internet with the link can view/edit”, even though I haven’t made any manual changes.

This has happened multiple times, and I’m concerned about the security implications — especially since I’ve explicitly set the doc to be shared only with specific people.

The doc has several integrations running, including:

  • Zaps via Zapier

  • Google Apps Scripts

  • Coda Packs connected to our CRM (Airtable)

I’m wondering if anyone else has encountered similar behavior or knows if external integrations can somehow affect sharing permissions or publish settings on a Coda doc.

Any ideas, suggestions, or experiences would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Reach out to supports as we cannot do anything other than just speculate. Sharring settings can be changed via API but since we do not know what you have in there… not much to say about. I personally never experienced this thought. Best, Cristian.
