Hi, all!
I have encountered a weird problem. I have a table that is filtered on the current user so that they only have access to their own information (editing access). This has worked fine, and I get feedback from users that it is working. However, when I am testing with a different Gmail account than my Coda user, I do not have any access to “my own” information. I tried to purposely filter on my user to force this, but I cannot even find the name or email address.
Any ideas?
Apologies if the explanation is incoherent or otherwise not understandable…

you as a user are linked to a unique email account, you with a second email are a new user to coda (although the same user for gmail, but coda is unaware of this).

Thanks for the input, @Christiaan_Huizer. I might be misunderstanding you, but my goal is to have the alternative e-mail address act as a third-party user so that I can test the access to the table as if I were one of the external “applicants”. The problem is that the e-mail address does not filter because it does not seem to be registered in Coda even though I am logged in with that address/user. This means that I am not able to see what the external users are seeing and I cannot replicate what they are seeing and therefore cannot troubleshoot the settings and formulas.
I understand that this is probably a niche issue, but the frustrating part is that this worked when I used the same setup last year (yeah, I know…).
I am probably doing something different, but I have not been able to figure out what yet.
Any alternative email address is expected to act as a third party user, regardless the person behind it.
Thanks again @Christiaan_Huizer. But shouldn’t a new user also be searchable as a user in the system? I am using the same process as I used last year, but this time it is not working as expected; I cannot filter new users by user().email, for example.
Perhaps I did something different to make this work last year, but I can’t see any obvious difference since I am just repurposing the same docs to make the form and table work.
hi @Kjell_Pettersen , I suggest you contact support. Maybe it is a setting in your doc you overlooked.
That’s a good point. Otherwise, it does not make much sense to me.
Thanks @Christiaan_Huizer!
