Alternative to parentRow in formula?

Our use case needs an alternative to the depreciated parentRow formula. Think of it like we have Ingredients, Dishes and Orders table, and need to multiply Ingredient quantities with the different Ordered Amount of each Dish. Tried with table reference column type and many others but.. can you please come up with a solution?

i think what youre describing is a BOM (Bill of Materials) setup.
